CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute [CSIR-CMERI]: This technology is a novel apparatus designed for tractor-operated chili harvesting. It features a rigid frame, hydraulic cylinders for height adjustment, and finger drums with flexible fingers that rotate in opposite directions to gently detach ripe chili fruits from the plants. The apparatus includes angled receiving plates and a conveyor system that efficiently collects and transports the chili fruits to a storage tank without damaging the plants. This device is particularly useful in automating the chili harvesting process, increasing efficiency and reducing labor costs.
