Researchers have developed a biocompatible bicondylar compression screw to simplify and improve surgical treatment for tibial fractures, reducing the need for multiple implants. The screw enables early weight-bearing and faster fracture union, restoring complete knee joint functionality. Applications include treating all types of condylar fractures at a lower cost compared to existing solutions. Preclinical testing has been conducted on stainless steel prototypes, proving biocompatibility. A patent has been filed, and this technology offers significant benefits to both surgeons and patients by reducing surgery time and complexity.
