A biodegradable 3D-printed polymeric implant has been developed with anti-infective polymer brushes to prevent implant-related infections. The implant is made from biodegradable polyesters derived from natural sources, providing a sustainable alternative to conventional materials. The surface-tethered polymer brushes create a stable, non-leaching antibacterial coating that inhibits bacterial colonization while maintaining cytocompatibility. This technology offers a long-term, non-toxic solution to infection risks associated with medical implants. Applications include biomedical implant industries for infection-resistant orthopedic and surgical implants.
