A natural antimicrobial formulation has been developed to extend food shelf life without refrigeration while ensuring safety. The technology uses a controlled-release system with PLGA-based porous microparticles encapsulating benzoic acid and mustard oil, effectively inhibiting bacterial growth for over 60 days. This bio-based method eliminates the need for excessive preservatives, making food preservation more sustainable. It is applicable to food preservation industries and drug delivery systems. The formulation has been successfully demonstrated in a laboratory environment.
