Cleaner, Safer Air in Indoor Parking Lots
Indoor Air Quality Control Technology for Parking Lot
Tags: IIT Bombay, India, Construction & Smart Cities, Energy & Environment
This Indoor Air Quality Control Technology is designed to filter and purify air pollutants like carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter in enclosed parking lots. The system uses a combination of filtration, thermal catalytic oxidation, and selective catalytic reduction units to tackle specific pollutants effectively. Applications include improving air quality in multi-level parking lots in urban offices and residential societies, reducing health and environmental risks. Currently in the prototype stage, the technology addresses poor indoor air quality by incorporating precise mathematical modeling and pollutant-specific device configurations. It is well-suited for urban localities to ensure healthier living environments in poorly ventilated areas.
