This invention presents a core-shell cathode for lithium-sulfur batteries that improves electrochemical efficiency by enhancing the reaction kinetics of sulfur electrodes. The porous carbon shell encases the sulfur active material, restricting the escape of liquid polysulfides and increasing sulfur loading. The result is high energy density, excellent capacity retention, and stable cycling in low-electrolyte environments. Applications include lithium-sulfur batteries for energy storage and electric devices, offering high performance and efficiency.
