Dosimeter for Accurate Real-Time Radiotherapy Dose Check
Feasibility of Determining External Beam Radiotherapy Dose Using LuSy Dosimeter
Tags: Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, Healthcare & Lifesciences, Wellness, Safety & Fitness
This study explores the use of the LuSy dosimeter, a plastic scintillator-based system, for measuring radiotherapy doses across various treatment techniques, including CRT, IMRT, VMAT, and SRS. The dosimeter demonstrated good feasibility, with a mean deviation of -3.0% from the treatment planning system (TPS) in target volume measurements. Surface dose measurements showed more significant deviations in some cases. The technology has applications in verifying radiation dose delivery, improving patient safety. LuSy's real-time output and high spatial resolution make it a strong candidate for advanced radiotherapy techniques like FLASH and MR-LINAC.
