Microemulsion fuel is a thermodynamically stable colloidal dispersion of oil, water, and surfactant that improves fuel atomization and combustion efficiency while reducing emissions. The water-in-oil formulation facilitates secondary atomization, enhancing mixing and thermal efficiency. This diesel-based microemulsion fuel is developed without additional surfactants, making it cost-effective and easy to produce. Applications include use in diesel engines for lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions. A functional prototype has been developed and successfully tested in a laboratory environment.
