High-Entropy Glycerate for Water Splitting & Hydrogen
A New Electrocatalyst for High Performance Oxygen Evolution Reaction and Overall Water Splitting - High Entropy Glycerate
Tags: National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Energy & Environment
This technology introduces a high-entropy glyceride (HEG) material synthesized using a simple solvothermal method. Composed of iron, nickel, cobalt, chromium, and manganese, HEG demonstrates superior oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity, low overpotential, and exceptional stability in alkaline electrolytes. Its performance outpaces binary, ternary, and quaternary systems, making it ideal for use in water-splitting applications, such as hydrogen and oxygen energy production. The HEG@HEG electrolyzer shows excellent efficiency and durability in overall water-splitting performance. This material is poised for applications in hydrogen energy and oxygen generation industries.
