Tags: National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Healthcare & Lifesciences, Agriculture & Food
This invention introduces an improved strain of Escherichia coli with a double pdxY gene for efficiently producing 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA). The strain has a faster growth rate and higher yield, making it a superior method for ALA production compared to other strains. Applications of this technology include pharmaceuticals, agriculture, beauty products, and health foods. It reduces production costs, avoids the use of plastids, and enhances the stability of protein expression. This new method also omits complex metabolic regulation steps.
