IoT-Guided Drone for Accurate Medicine Delivery in Low Light
Optimization of Medication Delivery Drone with IoT-Guidance Landing System Based on Direction and Intensity of Light
Tags: Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, Transportation & Automotive, Industrial Automation & Manufacturing
This technology optimizes a medication delivery drone using an IoT-guided landing system based on the direction and intensity of light. The system incorporates an Arduino microcontroller, ESP32 DevKitC V4, and multiple sensors to improve face detection and landing precision, especially in low-light environments. The IoT-GLS enhances detection range by 192% in darkness and improves face recognition distance up to 147 cm in low light. Applications include autonomous drone-based medical deliveries with precise landing in challenging lighting conditions. The system uses real-time light intensity data to select the best landing angle for safe and efficient delivery.
