Reliable Power Flow Control for DC Microgrid Networks
A Loop Power Flow Controller (LPFC) for DC Distribution Networks (DCDS)
Tags: IIT Delhi, India, Infrastructure, Utilities & Communications, Energy & Environment
A loop power flow controller (LPFC) has been developed for DC distribution systems (DCDS) in radial feeders, enhancing power reliability in DC microgrids. The system uses back-to-back bidirectional converters to ensure uninterrupted power supply during faults or feeder outages. It eliminates mechanical switches at remote feeder ends, allowing smooth power flow control and better load management. The LPFC is a cost-effective and simple solution, easily implemented with industrial microcontrollers. Applications include power transmission for ensuring continuous and efficient energy distribution.
