This technology enables accurate remote heart rate estimation even when individuals wear face masks, overcoming limitations of traditional facial video analysis. It extracts pulse information from both visible and masked face regions, enhancing monitoring accuracy. Validated in a controlled laboratory setting, it is useful in healthcare, public spaces, and outbreak scenarios. The non-invasive method improves accessibility, especially in remote areas. A patent has been filed (Indian Patent Application No. 202321071568).
