Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) is an eco-friendly alternative to diesel generators, using liquid electrolytes to store and release electrical energy efficiently. It provides scalable energy storage from kWh to MWh ranges and operates with a charging cycle of around nine hours per day. The technology replaces vanadium sulfate with cost-effective vanadium pentoxide for electrolyte synthesis. Applications include rural electrification, e-vehicle charging, and backup power for domestic and commercial use. A large-scale prototype has been deployed at IIT Delhi, where its performance has been evaluated.
