Researchers have developed a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)-based clubfoot brace module to monitor brace usage and adherence in children. The device captures usage data every 15 minutes, transmits it to a cloud server via a smartphone, and provides real-time visualization through a web-based application. Applications include reducing clubfoot recurrence by encouraging proper brace usage, thereby preventing future disabilities. A functional prototype has been bench-tested, and a patent has been filed, showing the technology’s feasibility and potential societal impact. This innovation is expected to transform pediatric care for congenital deformities.
