HKMU and HKLSS conducted a study involving 1,102 older adults to examine dementia risk factors, focusing on diet, lifestyle, and education. Using retinal imaging analysis with AI, the study found that healthier lifestyles and higher education levels correlate with a lower dementia risk. Applications include public health initiatives targeting lower-educated groups for improved diet and lifestyle awareness to reduce dementia risk. Gender differences also emerged, with women more likely to perceive health risks and adopt healthier habits. The study aims to guide policy development and raise public awareness for dementia prevention.
