HKMU is developing a VR-based Driving Training System with support from the Smart Traffic Fund, aiming to enhance driver training by simulating diverse traffic conditions, including weather and varied road scenarios. Applications include preparing learners for real-life driving challenges, reducing road congestion, and supporting safe driving habits. Originating from a student project, the system leverages VR to complement traditional driving courses, offering efficient, immersive practice for trainees. This collaboration between academia and the driver-training industry promotes smart city goals by advancing safe, accessible training technology.
